2018 was a year of  high expectations. We began the year with a 4th place finish in the Raider Invitational then followed that with a 1st place finish in the Russ Houge Invitational, 2nd in the Preseason and 6th in the Chieftain Invitational.

Our season had some ups and downs with a couple looses where we just did not play to our potential. Still we finished 2
nd in our conference.

One of our strengths in my mind in the past has been our ability to win close matches. This mindset comes from a never give up attitude and one that says I will do better. No matter how we start we won’t pout or give up but will do our best till the end.

We did advance to Districts as a team for the first time in 3 years after a 4
th place finish at sectional play.

Ethan Ricketts led the team in scoring average and has 2 years remaining. Garrett Allen played our 2 spot all year and has graduated.

We also return Kaiden
Weaks who played the 3 position, Bryce Loomis played the 4 spot and returns as well as Jacob Mitchell 5th and Trey Allen 6th

Collin Stewart leads a talented group of JV’s that will be fighting for varsity positions as well. Carter Stewart lettered as a freshman and will look to retain a spot. Carston McCain Hunter Kennaw, Aiden Elsass, Scott Armstrong and Toby Evans all have an opportunity as well if they work hard through the summer.

We welcome any others be they upper classmen or freshmen.

The key to success at the high school level is practice and a lot of play during the summer. We’ll again be unofficially playing at Cherokee Hills on Sunday evenings beginning in June.

Also, we’ll hold our annual fundraiser Sunday, May 26th at Cherokee Hills at 2 pm. It’s a 4 person scramble and all are welcome.
